The International Insurance Society (IIS) has announced the finalists for the 2024 RGA Leaders of Tomorrow award, representing a global cohort of mentees who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) is proud to announce the 10-year anniversary of the RGA Leaders of Tomorrow mentorship program. This milestone will be celebrated at the 60th Global Insurance Forum, taking place at the Hyatt Regency Miami on Nov. 17-19, 2024. The event will include an awards ceremony and a panel discussion featuring the RGA Leaders of Tomorrow Class of 2024 and program alumni.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) has named Vishakha RM, MD and CEO of IndiaFirst Life Insurance, the Vanguard Market Development Award 2024 honoree. Vishakha will be formally honored at an awards ceremony on Nov. 17, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Miami. The awards ceremony kicks off the Global Insurance Forum, running from Nov. 17-19.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) has named Prem Watsa, the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Toronto-based Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, the 2024 Insurance Hall of Fame Laureate. Mr. Watsa will be formally honored at an awards ceremony on Nov. 17, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency Miami. The awards ceremony kicks off the Global Insurance Forum, running from Nov. 17-19, 2024.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) has named the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner III Center for Insurance and Risk Management and the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) as 2023 inductees for the Global Centers of Insurance Excellence (GCIE). The IIS recognized the institutions at an awards ceremony held during the Global Insurance Forum on Nov. 6 at the Hilton Singapore Orchard. With the addition of the University of Cincinnati and UIBE, there are now 35 GCIE designees representing 11 countries.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) has named Felicia Er of MSIG Asia the RGA Leaders of Tomorrow 2023 award winner for her original research Empathetic Leadership. The paper is an in-depth exploration of the path to gender diversity in the corporate landscape. Honorable mentions include Joyce Liow of Milliman for her paper Embracing Sustainable Investment and Joseph Strathman of Transamerica for Closing the Need Gap: Connecting with the Underserved Population Segments.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) and Pacific Insurance Conference (PIC) are set to host the 56th Global Insurance Forum in person for the first time since 2019. This prestigious event will take place at the Hilton Singapore Orchard on Nov. 5-7, 2023. Lawrence Wong, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), Minister for Finance and Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, will deliver the keynote address.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) is accepting nominations for the Insurance Hall of Fame, Vanguard Market Development Award, and Founder’s Award through Sept. 15, 2023. These awards are among the most prestigious in the insurance industry and will be presented at the Global Insurance Forum 2024.

Andreas Berger, chairman of the International Insurance Society’s Executive Council, has announced the appointment of 12 leading insurance executives to the IIS Executive Council, effective Aug. 1, 2023. The Council provides strategic guidance to the International Insurance Society (IIS) in alignment with its mission to serve as a platform for the global insurance and risk management community, providing knowledge, research, and thought leadership to support the betterment of society.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) has named Chang-Jae Shin, M.D., the trailblazing chairman and CEO of the Korea-based Kyobo Life Insurance Company, the 2023 Insurance Hall of Fame Laureate. Dr. Shin is the first legacy inductee in the 66-year history of the award. His father, Yong Ho Shin, the founder of Kyobo Life, is the 1996 Laureate. Dr. Shin will be formally honored at the Global Insurance Forum gala on Nov. 5, 2023. The gala, along with the Global Insurance Forum, will be held at the Hilton Singapore Orchard. The Forum runs from Nov. 5-7.

The International Insurance Society and Insurance Thought Leadership is now accepting nominations for the inaugural Global Innovation Awards. These prestigious awards will recognize insurers and insurtechs who push boundaries, drive positive change, and contribute to a more sustainable society. Three winners representing three categories — Property and Casualty, Life, Health and Retirement, and Predict and Prevent — will be honored at an awards dinner at the Global Insurance Forum on Nov. 6, 2023. The Forum runs Nov. 5-7 at the Hilton Singapore Orchard.
